A una manciata di giorni dalla loro esibizione al leggendario festival di Reading e Leeds, i Blood Youth tornano a farsi sentire con il nuovissimo singolo Starve, presentato in anteprima sul BBC Radio One Rock Show.
Starve è la prima canzone inedita che la band inglese ci fa ascoltare dopo che l’anno scorso è uscito il loro album d’esordio, il fortunato Beyond Repair che si è attirato numerose critiche entusiastiche dagli amanti della scena hardcore e ha permesso alla band di realizzare un minidocumentario che ripercorre alcuni degli show in supporto del disco.
“Life isn’t always a fairy tale and you can end up trapped in a very unhealthy mindset. I wrote the lyrics when I was going through a bad time and it felt like I was in a nightmare. It’s a very intense and emotional song, so we really wanted all of this to come out in the video. We wanted people to feel uncomfortable, almost as if they are watching a horror movie.” — Kaya Tarsus, frontman della band, recentemente ospite di un’intervista ai nostri microfoni virtuali.
La canzone è stata presentata insieme al video ufficiale, diretto da Adam Webb e filmato nella città natale dei Blood Youth, Harrogate. “Adam really understands our mindset and where we were coming from as a band, so we just threw a bunch of ideas at him and he captured everything perfectly. We’re extremely happy with how its all turned out!”
